Obstetrics and Gynecology
Born in Newark, New Jersey, Dr. Al-Bayan is the younger of two children. She graduated magna cum laude from Hampton University in Virginia, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology. She then went on to earn her medical degree from Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee, where she also completed her residency training in obstetrics and gynecology.
During her matriculation at Meharry, Dr. Al-Bayan developed an interest in clinical research and took part in several research studies focusing on health conditions that disproportionately affect minority populations. She remains committed to patient education and advocacy, especially in underserved communities.
Currently, Dr. Al-Bayan is a Junior Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. She was drawn to the field of OB/GYN due to its unique incorporation of continuity care, preventative medicine, and surgical interventions. She considers it an immense honor to be able to witness the miracle of childbirth for a living, caring for patients from preconception to postpartum and beyond.
In her spare time, Dr. Al-Bayan loves to travel and spend time with family and friends.
